First 3D production location open: ‘We are going to build houses’

The first European production site for 3D-printed concrete was opened in Eindhoven. It should be possible in the future to print concrete elements directly on the building site.

Print on location with a mobile printer for the construction

The printer by CyBe Construction is made in collaboration with Heijmans.

Workshop Women’s network Rijnstreek

Designing with 22 women and 3D printing, after a presentation what it is and what you can do with it, quite an experience. So were topics discussed as bras, shoes and fashion printing, a business case on a clothing hook, the pros and cons, B2C and B2B. They were very excited. One wanted to print a gun, the other a gift for her child, another a copy of a hand-made figurine.
They all went home with a key ring with red heel.

Dutch startup wants to provide Amsterdam of a 3D-printed bridge

The Dutch technology startup MX3D wants to provide Amsterdam by 2017 with a 3d-printed steel bridge.

The plans for the construction were announced Thursday by MX3D.The technique of MX3D doesn’t actually use ‘ traditional ‘ 3d printers. It concerns industrial robots that have been adapted to the manufacturing and construction process.The equipment can both steel as plastic printing in “practically any size,” said MX3D. The steel construction of the bridge must be printed by the robots.The project would be completed in the course of 2017. Starting from september this year, however, the progress of the project can be viewed at the Office address of MX3D in Amsterdam at the NDSM shipyard, on the company’s website.MX3D for the project has the support of the municipality of Amsterdam and works with construction company heijmans and software maker Autodesk. The children were very enthusiast! They prepared a design of an object per group and were able to print it out immediately. It was great!
